Description:
DeTox was my final project for DePaul's Game Programming Fundamentals course. It was also my first "big" straight C++ game project (we made a Pong and Asteroids game in the class, but those were simple in comparison). We used the professor's Quarter Engine for the class, but it just provided some basic math, game loop, input, and camera functionality–for most of the drawing we were still working directly with OpenGL.
The game is a twin-stick shooter where up to 4 players work together to fight off the waves of zombies with 4 different weapons. The game currently supports only XBOX 360 controllers. One of the interesting things I learned while making this game, is how much more difficult the zombies are when they don't follow you.

A two-player playthrough of the game. It's the green player's first time playing.
